Wooden LEGO were the first mass-produced branded products. It began with the craft workshop of Lego founder Kirk Christensen, where he produced numerous small series with the help of his family after the general carpentry work did not bring enough profit.

All of these models were made exclusively in Denmark between 1935 and 1956. Later, the popular wooden Lego collection boxes were made until around 1968. These too are now a coveted rarity if they come complete with a city map and in good condition.

In the mid-1950s, one of the first injection molding machines for processing plastic was purchased and the first experimental products left the workshop in Billund. These first series up until the end of the 1960s are also sought-after collector's items today.
