The artist

Corinna Mayer is a painter and draftswoman from Frankfurt whose works have been exhibited at numerous locations in Frankfurt am Main, as well as at the Landesmuseum Darmstadt, the Kunstverein in Salzburg, and in Berlin, Hanover, Cologne, Wiesbaden, Rome, South Korea, Dubai, and Palma de Mallorca. Her drawings and paintings are strongly inspired by the fashion and music of the 1960s.

Surrealism is experiencing a renaissance, as our current reality shatters the logical boundaries of the mind and takes on the collage-like, anxiety-laden structure of dreams. Recent crises act as catalysts, dissolving the familiar order. With the loss of causality—for instance, when decades-old peace orders collapse overnight—there emerges a sense of an unpredictable, dreamlike world in which we yearn, in vivid imagery, for love and peace.
